Background
The ongoing national shortage of Benzathine Penicillin G (Bicillin® L-A) 1 200 000 IU/2mL is expected to continue until at least mid-February. More information about the shortage can be found on the Government of Canada website.
Impact for clinical practice
In light of this shortage, Public Health Sudbury & Districts will work with providers to select appropriate second-line medication, if required and where clinically appropriate.
