We do not offer in-person food handler training or proctoring.
We accept certificates issued by:
- Any public health unit in Ontario, including the
In Good Hands
course offered by the Thunder Bay District Health Unit.- For more information about this course, the cost, or to register, visit InGoodHands.ca.
- Any program listed on the Ministry of Health website.
Please note, some of the approved Ministry of Health providers only provide food handler training, not certification. In order to meet the regulatory requirement, certification is required.
The Ontario Food Premises Regulation requires that all food service premises have at least one certified food handler present at the establishment during all hours of operation. It is important to have more than one staff certified to ensure this regulatory requirement is met.
For more information about approved training and certification providers or how to become a recognized provider, visit the Ontario Ministry of Health’s food handler training and certification webpage.
